The roof has always been painted white rather than the soft cream which is Kevayling's hull and saloon colour since we have owned her. So it was decided to repaint the roof to match the rest of the boat. First some of the fittings were removed to make the job easier, then the roof was sanded down with a rotary sander and then the odd hole here and there was filled and made good.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigNOMmNIkQwV-P-2wOguxspcg6siR01ZbeXWedwnLPSUS_LUQ8lG_EFtAQazxWIvQf_FWOe2nGcTbS9lmvELg3tiiD--OyIITE-fDZuJMt-7dhziDCKIvTSlCKEZnacGo-1cUNtr1qBUjwYuWq9EG2FbogDv-K-ho0zp4Z6OldrKsV4KThnjM7LxcJ6CU/s4080/20230826_105642.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1836" data-original-width="4080" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigNOMmNIkQwV-P-2wOguxspcg6siR01ZbeXWedwnLPSUS_LUQ8lG_EFtAQazxWIvQf_FWOe2nGcTbS9lmvELg3tiiD--OyIITE-fDZuJMt-7dhziDCKIvTSlCKEZnacGo-1cUNtr1qBUjwYuWq9EG2FbogDv-K-ho0zp4Z6OldrKsV4KThnjM7LxcJ6CU/w640-h288/20230826_105642.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>The following date the roof was then repaint in the hull cream colour.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwDLhouQ3JfHlWQuGEytG0d-bLuzNw8ZBk_4XNpQC66TQgHWftIvyfWQgQiIxeWeBMusoaTquJWV_VqSdS2bjkOrF0Uiv2iMx3ujIwhAv14NqxM0aY0EICiJzVw1P362Q5DNE5HF8To10r50UtxvkVPkoB_SHr9KObOk70uPjr7F66ZCsf40Ca_ZIqGOk/s4080/20230827_115152.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1836" data-original-width="4080" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwDLhouQ3JfHlWQuGEytG0d-bLuzNw8ZBk_4XNpQC66TQgHWftIvyfWQgQiIxeWeBMusoaTquJWV_VqSdS2bjkOrF0Uiv2iMx3ujIwhAv14NqxM0aY0EICiJzVw1P362Q5DNE5HF8To10r50UtxvkVPkoB_SHr9KObOk70uPjr7F66ZCsf40Ca_ZIqGOk/w640-h288/20230827_115152.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>Left to dry over night the fitting that were removed were replaced.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3WV14QzF2_OdZqpXq925TN1hCVAxEBlzQ-wc-jRkuXmLweIt-JRxqQL4M3KuM0fSTvaWQOJDbRt4mw_Sn-fwe13np7QnmJZAVjgaIgpL32Zrhg1Pos1OKnEAJfcxyajwcBkGQ8eW2Qpp33M1TgXnbh30TU4QFxMpSZqx48PX2l8B9HUGbCw3Rx4tzZVI/s4080/20230828_122132.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1836" data-original-width="4080" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3WV14QzF2_OdZqpXq925TN1hCVAxEBlzQ-wc-jRkuXmLweIt-JRxqQL4M3KuM0fSTvaWQOJDbRt4mw_Sn-fwe13np7QnmJZAVjgaIgpL32Zrhg1Pos1OKnEAJfcxyajwcBkGQ8eW2Qpp33M1TgXnbh30TU4QFxMpSZqx48PX2l8B9HUGbCw3Rx4tzZVI/w640-h288/20230828_122132.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>Job done.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Parts and/or Items Used: Cream paint. We started with a good polish & dust of the interior to remove the winter grime, overall the boat is in amazingly good condition after the cold wet winter we had.</div><div><br /></div><div>Today we rubbed down and repainted the inside of the wheelhouse roof which was the only paintwork area that really needed attention and I think this was partly due to the bad condensation the wheelhouse suffered over the winter, which is a first we have had.</div><div><br /></div><div>Parts and/or Items Used: White paint. The new mast is solid mahogany and weighs considerably more than the old one. All the old fittings have been removed from the original and fitted, including the forward navigation light which was on the wheelhouse roof but now on the mast yardarm as intended.</div><div><br /></div><div>The original mast, which stood proudly on the boat since 1968, has been given to a fellow Freeman owner who intends to completely replace rotten wood and restore. If this is successful we have told him to install on his Freeman and replace an out of place stainless steel one in situ.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Tuesday 21st February 2023</b> - Now the weather is improving the new mast has been presented to the mast base on the wheelhouse roof and checked for fitting. The plan is to now refurbish all the woodwork and roof as there has been a move around of various pieces of equipment leaving areas in need of repair, repaint and filling.<br /><br />The first job has been to sand down the panels in the wheelhouse that have been re-stained earlier, with a satin base varnish, these have now had 2 coats of gloss yacht varnish to bring out the grain and shine of the wood.<br /><br />Parts and/or Items Used: Wood Preserver, Wood Stain/Varnish, Yacht Varnish.<br /><br /> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6NDWUxG5A82n5zEOmPpX-hCiro0LqaXw-3D6Wv_lEEaWt4kqnXF0KyQcxxNfjTfZZawfJkAi4JOaP8ki7L4XS3e5jMhyqwGnXoI_MuhtLYxoZmUrnrNw900nz3zgjLeWzIq3lK2A2PDQI9LpYVqIbV8vJsf2MGaVU8rghcD1QRm8XCiCCKHsxPbGo/s2560/20220910_145449.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2560" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6NDWUxG5A82n5zEOmPpX-hCiro0LqaXw-3D6Wv_lEEaWt4kqnXF0KyQcxxNfjTfZZawfJkAi4JOaP8ki7L4XS3e5jMhyqwGnXoI_MuhtLYxoZmUrnrNw900nz3zgjLeWzIq3lK2A2PDQI9LpYVqIbV8vJsf2MGaVU8rghcD1QRm8XCiCCKHsxPbGo/w640-h288/20220910_145449.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Overview of the wheelhouse after re-varnishing the side panels.</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3pL0WYgp8-PK4edV01OkTo4yX8PzCPQbmJEIummxRN0KSNnVvZMFyCNOdNOcAJAYGHEO7mdjWxnIfmc5e61hu3CDz8DT_NZnjdadY4SXY5-1T6Usa6Kff_Eb8MgrKNccQt09UpexFCvo9xyo2CB2PbzhLQufIl9pU7BKWfPfL48FqhNwtYA6ZNqaH/s4080/20220910_122548~2.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1836" data-original-width="4080" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3pL0WYgp8-PK4edV01OkTo4yX8PzCPQbmJEIummxRN0KSNnVvZMFyCNOdNOcAJAYGHEO7mdjWxnIfmc5e61hu3CDz8DT_NZnjdadY4SXY5-1T6Usa6Kff_Eb8MgrKNccQt09UpexFCvo9xyo2CB2PbzhLQufIl9pU7BKWfPfL48FqhNwtYA6ZNqaH/w640-h288/20220910_122548~2.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Close of side panel.</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0Hr-Mz-gZtrnopb07pN5sVTv8AKgqq2bLFxgqPTsdb9bd9zK28up-IFPyk2yuf2ZxLj9GYO1ePAuPlZ_y-tNF0GBch6EOPUekUn2wUx6Xps_zgiCz4vFSakvHkwrsfMIEh3yYYAFOZzaRVQ6kGwjA2Fzst1scqbosRBSx8pdKwE5sYUrsHgs6Y-5q/s4080/20220910_122812.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1836" data-original-width="4080" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0Hr-Mz-gZtrnopb07pN5sVTv8AKgqq2bLFxgqPTsdb9bd9zK28up-IFPyk2yuf2ZxLj9GYO1ePAuPlZ_y-tNF0GBch6EOPUekUn2wUx6Xps_zgiCz4vFSakvHkwrsfMIEh3yYYAFOZzaRVQ6kGwjA2Fzst1scqbosRBSx8pdKwE5sYUrsHgs6Y-5q/w640-h288/20220910_122812.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Engine bay side panel work in progress.</td></tr></tbody></table><br />Ray and Annettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14923685502844620877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-439730940645672210.post-60785796185481819332022-08-08T15:30:00.007+01:002022-10-10T09:19:18.943+01:00Re-covered Deck Hatches Category: Deck Work<br /><br />Maintenance/Repair Details: Having some faux teak decking left over from the renovation of the aft deck we decided to strip off the old paintwork on the forward saloon hatch and the aft gas storage hatch and match them in with the aft deck. Several hours were spent stripping off the old deck grip and paint layers so that we had a solid base to stick the decking too. The original hinges on both hatches were taken home, wire brushes, primed and sprayed with liquid chrome to give them a new lease of life. <div>Hatch edges were then gloss painted. </div><div><br />Parts and/or Items Used: Remnants of faux teak decking from previous aft deck project. What was thought to be a straightforward job turned into a 6 hour nightmare. Having struggled to install the new pump and reconnect the water pipes I realised that our engineer had fitted the pulley wheel the wrong way around. That meant dismantling all the work done to date, removing the pump, pulling the wheel off the shaft reversing it and refitting. Then the whole act of reinstalling was repeated. Having installed the pump the last thing to do was refit the alternator, easier said than done. With little room to get my hand underneath the the alternator fitting the retaining bolts was a drawn out process resulting in frequent stretching under the engine to retrieve dropped bolts, nuts or washers. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">Will return and test both raw water pump and alternator in a few days time, need a couple of days off! </p><p style="text-align: justify;">11th December - Raw water pump tested O.K so antifreeze pumped through the port engine cooling system, alternator function O.K. Stern gland greaser refilled. Work on the port engine now complete.</p><p>p.s have already insured the stbd pump pulley wheel is the right way around.</p><p>Parts and/or Items Used: Raw water pump.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEigrVQrcTfPixRpfyssvgiEnirrCjBJHB8uP9UGDztmVQFRh4l4B64-vzrMGgdeV9_h0HQju1pDXUJCx-E9QXh7AyoVoDILtI9E2agQLbYsW_whCORBDrPtadeRWs6pFo-CF4AfDXbdgA2khNc6K8CNPbIL0EwbJkHljbINqp39jr0NYHb0EaZMi8Vo=s2048" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2047" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEigrVQrcTfPixRpfyssvgiEnirrCjBJHB8uP9UGDztmVQFRh4l4B64-vzrMGgdeV9_h0HQju1pDXUJCx-E9QXh7AyoVoDILtI9E2agQLbYsW_whCORBDrPtadeRWs6pFo-CF4AfDXbdgA2khNc6K8CNPbIL0EwbJkHljbINqp39jr0NYHb0EaZMi8Vo=w400-h400" width="400" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;">New pump installed on port side engine.</p>Ray and Annettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14923685502844620877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-439730940645672210.post-78644005953403918012021-11-17T14:55:00.009+00:002022-10-10T09:16:45.188+01:00Winter Work - Raw Water PumpsCategory: Engines (updated as work progresses)<br /><br /><div style="text-align: justify;">Maintenance/Repair Details: Commenced work on port engine with the replacement of oil filter. Refilled and repainted the saloon roof as good as new.<br /><br />Carried out oil change on both engines (oil filters arrived today but will not be replaced until both engines are fully exposed due to location of filters).<br /><br />Winter canopy fitted.</div><div><br /></div><div>Fresh water tank emptied, toilet winterised and engine anti-freeze checked and topped up. </div><div><br /></div><div>27th October 2021 - Kevayling lifted out & blocked for the winter. </div><div><br /></div><div>Parts and/or Items Used: Foam Filler, Oil</div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEipbwz279lVYwBMMTgAhnEkocnQznUioZlhJop-g3BNpEN9u--WDCasahc_H3__mRXSwnUvOGLwYpTPRn5D_OIDvYYKrX2WuZEv0DEMJQJEsWthSm7C-zqKv9SFYMgWBGQenP2DzF6icZFAq0eQuxJIidVlkj01an7fb2YU8D6cyHjEEYLXHldLjBkc=s2950" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1924" data-original-width="2950" height="418" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEipbwz279lVYwBMMTgAhnEkocnQznUioZlhJop-g3BNpEN9u--WDCasahc_H3__mRXSwnUvOGLwYpTPRn5D_OIDvYYKrX2WuZEv0DEMJQJEsWthSm7C-zqKv9SFYMgWBGQenP2DzF6icZFAq0eQuxJIidVlkj01an7fb2YU8D6cyHjEEYLXHldLjBkc=w640-h418" width="640" /></a></div><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgolhbG13v20nPaA5Dk1k-gv7HMCO9PZvetORvesdW2cTuUuPhEXjXXRBTfNKCbSIaeXOcRkKd88xHmlbe0FsrmW_xYoEI_R8PmB6r8GoAZ5eShCuA_ZduWSVxjiWJ1RiKz5Y60zr8wRBYOl310Vhic9XoBwjPEPS3WXfAQ3LCW53doTVZticZyKe6a=s3068" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2160" data-original-width="3068" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgolhbG13v20nPaA5Dk1k-gv7HMCO9PZvetORvesdW2cTuUuPhEXjXXRBTfNKCbSIaeXOcRkKd88xHmlbe0FsrmW_xYoEI_R8PmB6r8GoAZ5eShCuA_ZduWSVxjiWJ1RiKz5Y60zr8wRBYOl310Vhic9XoBwjPEPS3WXfAQ3LCW53doTVZticZyKe6a=w640-h450" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Freeman sisters.</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><div><br /><br /><p></p></div>Ray and Annettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14923685502844620877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-439730940645672210.post-61424171728939784172021-08-07T13:25:00.002+01:002022-05-31T16:02:51.432+01:007th August 2021 - Replacement Of FridgeCategory: Electrics, Fixtures & Fittings<br /><br />Maintenance/Repair Details: Replacement of fridge - following some concerns with the old Domestic RM4200 3 way fridge it was decided to finally replace the whole unit rather than pay from a reconditioning service, removal proved the right decision had been made! A few preparation had to be sorted first, selection of replacement, type of fridge, size & cost. We selected an Isotherm Elegance 65L 12/240v model so first job was to remove and blank off the old gas pipe. 240v power point was already in situ so the next job was to run 12v power from battery bay to fridge location.<br /><br />Come change over day and removal of the old fridge we found the old unit was well past sell by date with extensive corrosion around the gas burner flame unit. It was obvious the right decision had been made.<br /><br />The new fridge slid into place beautifully with a little bit of cosmetic work around the front edges, powered up on 240v and ran a treat. 12v wiring installed and tested, switched between power sources easily. Job complete.<br /><br />Parts and/or Items Used: Replacement Fridge, Wood Preserver, Other <div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigAGH07Y4E5cg2VhaNZfq5BrApTqVqjQx7EtyNSGtFbK0Pitkr0GcUNDFbDoO8_QZ0hYX531vpzjHMHaUZ9DWPYbnjcfIqb4MlJ-kYCrjdvgVmalJmRWQA3ioyPlGNvAe2mgWeUTzciM8/s3840/IMG_20210804_095642.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; We had an idea to make sitting or viewing while underway a bit easier for our passengers by installing a new deck piece on the same level as the engine cover height. To do this required fitting two new supports either side of the aft cabin door, against the engine cover side panel, strong enough to take the weight of a person sitting or standing on the new deck cover in it raised position. The new supports were made, stained, drilled and installed.<br /><br />Parts and/or Items Used: Wood, Other<div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_rOFDpNPs4v5fH48p0PnDrv8OH4bv-63Y_eo5E4_PQ2AfaLmY5JYVzZAswhuFnRdxf73Pra4SpJJMZ3nkCDSngbGkTUyendQzuctbIXiZsqhupxJl3Wo7az0w2unYXJ_6Jnn_QXpxUhc/s3840/IMG_20210520_140155.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2160" data-original-width="3840" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_rOFDpNPs4v5fH48p0PnDrv8OH4bv-63Y_eo5E4_PQ2AfaLmY5JYVzZAswhuFnRdxf73Pra4SpJJMZ3nkCDSngbGkTUyendQzuctbIXiZsqhupxJl3Wo7az0w2unYXJ_6Jnn_QXpxUhc/w400-h225/IMG_20210520_140155.jpg" title="Normal Position." width="400" /></a><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Original deck level <br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs2NZtXwQfXkEYA89gLtQ7SAZaCjbWqfVoRIEKuZz8lq69EsYQwcf9jXFPe1UbamzRB-Ol9_GqOiXfzgnKZg0YKTPI83CaYizEexU1O-NpLMlZRV6TPbK6HMap7P9wbOwYns5NoTsaSp4/s2048/IMG_20210525_100451%255B1%255D.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs2NZtXwQfXkEYA89gLtQ7SAZaCjbWqfVoRIEKuZz8lq69EsYQwcf9jXFPe1UbamzRB-Ol9_GqOiXfzgnKZg0YKTPI83CaYizEexU1O-NpLMlZRV6TPbK6HMap7P9wbOwYns5NoTsaSp4/w400-h225/IMG_20210525_100451%255B1%255D.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">New side supports made and fitted.<br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiIPD1r_pwr9C1ccWk-3n81ibjG1N7gKP47nmzMPuPoIpU9sqxtSpewMffF9NzyxufkK0xnmCimC0Tod2HoU4IvIf3GZkzImYEErvek4qad2Jk3L26-xpcQK1StKLf8CPOfS1Esq4pXCQ/s2048/IMG_20210525_100425%255B1%255D.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; outline-width: 0px !important; user-select: auto !important;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiIPD1r_pwr9C1ccWk-3n81ibjG1N7gKP47nmzMPuPoIpU9sqxtSpewMffF9NzyxufkK0xnmCimC0Tod2HoU4IvIf3GZkzImYEErvek4qad2Jk3L26-xpcQK1StKLf8CPOfS1Esq4pXCQ/w400-h225/IMG_20210525_100425%255B1%255D.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">New deck insert manufactured, covered and installed. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /><br /></div><br /><div><br /></div>Ray and Annettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14923685502844620877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-439730940645672210.post-67077133106484868892021-05-17T15:21:00.004+01:002022-05-31T16:05:29.149+01:0017th May 2021 - Refurbishment Of Engine Morse ControlsCategory: Fixtures & Fittings<br /><br />Maintenance/Repair Details:<br />For a long time I have looked at the throttle control area and planned to improve the area. We stated in the previous entry how we sorted out the morse control and now have continued the work by massively improving the area. <br /><br />The old plastic leather effect covering which was glued completely around the morse control was cut across the joint of the unit, it came away from the origin wood backing easily. The re-exposed wood was stripped of old glue, sanded back and several coats of wood stain applied. A new wood strip was cut, also stained and fixed to cover the area where the covering was cut.<br /><br />General tiding of the area carried out, step back and admire the job.<br /><br />Parts and/or Items Used: Wood, Wood Preserver <div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_F5Lb1ZSPnPQIecaH4lRppjCop-D1hTbUDtsmu-LrdghQtY0Q0_GxP27h83_KoifjjBkVE2NeNKjTqKF-Lx5KRhvFqmD2okI_SCBmuA785w2ooCs39hIsGI3N1Jyn2zAxv8iswyZIbyg/s2094/IMG_20210504_092708%257E3.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2085" data-original-width="2094" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_F5Lb1ZSPnPQIecaH4lRppjCop-D1hTbUDtsmu-LrdghQtY0Q0_GxP27h83_KoifjjBkVE2NeNKjTqKF-Lx5KRhvFqmD2okI_SCBmuA785w2ooCs39hIsGI3N1Jyn2zAxv8iswyZIbyg/w346-h400/IMG_20210504_092708%257E3.jpg" title="Before." width="346" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBJD0LNeiHXLKY0impGvAqW4ej2C-1ckbY7Y7mgsgdYrBekf4sv61sSiQVIzDs_btk9U25ulQPhfHoHogS888nojyGXiuWsBj2ioScdg4UageAWoOMbiu2hDLF0dNxCsR6KeC7kIOwBww/s3840/IMG_20210517_131552.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; outline-width: 0px; user-select: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3840" data-original-width="2160" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBJD0LNeiHXLKY0impGvAqW4ej2C-1ckbY7Y7mgsgdYrBekf4sv61sSiQVIzDs_btk9U25ulQPhfHoHogS888nojyGXiuWsBj2ioScdg4UageAWoOMbiu2hDLF0dNxCsR6KeC7kIOwBww/w225-h400/IMG_20210517_131552.jpg" title="After." width="225" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div>Ray and Annettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14923685502844620877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-439730940645672210.post-27949800392993686832021-05-04T12:27:00.007+01:002022-05-31T16:06:29.889+01:004th May 2021 - Started Work On Morse ControlsCategory: Fixtures & Fittings<br /><br />Maintenance/Repair Details:<br />Have at long last tackled the issue of a pitted and unsightly morse throttle control. Continuing the work on the wheelhouse both the mast and roof weather strip were seen to be in need of restoration or repair. The mast was removed and found to have suffered wood rot down the spine which was treated and filled to restore strength and appearance. Re-stained and re-varnished before reinstalling. The roof weather strip was found to be beyond repair with a new one fashioned, stained, varnished and refitted. <br /><br />3rd March 20121 - Due to the stern light mounting being originally mounted on the weather strip I took the opportunity of making a new mount so that the stern light is mounted independently on the wheelhouse roof.
